2 c. Sifted flour
4 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
½ tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. sugar
½ c. shortening
⅔ c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 450º.

Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar, and sugar. Cut in shortening till mixture is course crumbs. Add milk all at once, stir only until dough follows fork around bowl.

Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead gently for 30 seconds.

Roll in thick. Cut using cutter. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10-12 mins or until golden brown.
