Ingredients:  
1 C Crisco
1 C sugar
1 ˝ tsp salt
2 yeast cakes
2 C warm water, separated
3 eggs
6 C flour

Directions:
Directions:
• Cream Crisco and sugar.
• Add salt.
• Dissolve yeast cakes in 1 C of warm water.
• Add eggs to shortening mixture.
• Add yeast water to mixture.
• Slowly add flour, mixing as you go.
• Add remaining cup of warm water to shortening mixture.
• Cover and refrigerate over night.
• Lightly flour hands and make balls of dough; roll in melted butter.
• Place in a greased muffin tin, and cut and “X” in the top with kitchen shears, and brush again with melted
butter.
• Cover and set in a warm place to rise and allow to rise until doubled.
• Bake at 350° 10-12 minutes, or until browned.


Note: This recipe is fabulous! It takes a little planning to prepare ahead and then allow to rise, but it is worth it.

I ate these rolls for the first time the first Thanksgiving that I was single. The boys were with Rick and my high school best friend, Judy Patterson, invited me to join her family for Thanksgiving. The rolls are amazing and I couldn't stay out of them. This brings back fond memories of a life long friendship with Judy. We have walked through so many of life's ups and downs together. There is nothing that can replace a friendship like that.
