½ cup soft shortening
1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup granulated white sugar
2 eggs
1 cup undiluted carnation evaporated milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups Wondra flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped nuts or coconut, chocolate chips, finely cut dates, seedless raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix thoroughly shortening, sugars and eggs. Stir in milk and vanilla, sift together flour, soda and salt. Blend in nuts, etc. Chill dough. Heat oven to 375 degrees. Drop rounded teaspoons 2” apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake approximately 10 mins.

Icing:

2 cups of sifted confectioners’ sugar, ¼ cup carnation milk, 2 Tablespoons melted butter; add tint of color; make thick – top with nut.
