3 cups flour
2 tsp. sugar
2 cups milk
4 tsp. baking powder
2/3 cup melted butter or margarine
4 eggs, separated
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat yolks, 1 minute
Add milk and beat 1 minute longer.
Add sifted dry ingredients at #4 speed.
Beat 1 minute more at #8 speed.
Add melted shortening and beat 15 seconds at #8 speed.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Makes. 12-16 large squares.

This was my Mother's (Hazel Bush) Sunbeam waffle recipe.
Many a Sunday we had chicken and waffles for Sunday dinner.
The butter keeps them from sticking!
