Cake:
½ c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
⅛ tsp. salt
1 c. buttermilk

Frosting:
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
½ c. Carnation milk
1 large can crushed pineapple, drained

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Cream sugar and shortening together. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well. Add buttermilk. Add dry ingredients until well blended. Pour into a greased and floured 13x9" pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.

Mix all frosting ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thickened, about 20 minutes. Poke holes into cake and pour frosting over it.
