2 c. flour
1½ oz. yeast
1 TB granulated sugar
salt
½ c. and 2 TB milk
1/4 c. butter
rind of 1 lemon, grated
2 eggs
1/3 c. butter, melted
3 T. whipping cream
2/3 c. granulated sugar
1 TB honey
6 oz. sliced almonds

Filling:
2 pkg. vanilla pudding (not instant)
2 c. milk
½ c. granulated sugar (if pudding is unsweetened)
2 c. whipping cream

Dough:
Prepare a yeast dough with flour, yeast, 1 TB sugar, salt, milk, 1/5 cup butter, lemon peel and eggs. Add more flour if needed. Let rise until dough is doubled. In meantime stir together melted butter, cream, 5/8 cup sugar, honey and almonds. Bring to a boil and cool off. Roll dough onto greased baking sheet. Spread the lukewarm almond mixture on top. Let rise again. Bake at 350º about 30 minutes. Make cream filling. Cut cooled cake horizontally in half. Spread with cream filling and place top on again. Cut into serving pieces.

Filling:
Cook vanilla pudding mix with the milk. Sweeten if pudding is unsweetened. Pudding should be firm. Whip the whipping cream until stiff. Add pudding by heaping spoonful, blending the pudding and cream.
