Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 farmer sausage, sliced or chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
6 med. potatoes
1 lg. can or jar sauerkraut (I use my own kraut)

Directions:
Directions:
Fry sausage in a pan until browned. Stir in the onion and let it cook a few minutes until golden. Place this mixture into a casserole dish or roaster. Cut the potatoes into chunks and layer them over the sausage. Cover this with the sauerkraut and its liquid. If liquid isn't sufficient to keep it from cooking dry, add a little water. If sauerkraut flavor is to strong, mix in some chopped cabbage. Let casserole bake at 325º for 1 hour or bake slowly at lowered temperature for 2 to 3 hours to let flavors mingle. (Note:) A wonderful meal on a cold day.
