12 chicken livers, halved at the natural separation
24 thin slivers water chestnuts
12 slices bacon, cut in half
1 ½ cup soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup light brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Make a small incision in center of each piece of chicken liver and insert a slice of water chestnut. Wrap each with a half strip of bacon and secure with toothpick. Mix soy sauce and garlic, add livers, cover and marinade in the refrigerator for several hours. Remove livers from marinade, roll lightly in brown sugar and broil until bacon is crisp. Serve hot.

Makes 2 dozen.
