1-1/2 cup sugar
2 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 T cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 cup sour milk (add 1 tsp vinegar to regular milk)
2/3 cup vegetable oil
1 T red food coloring (can use 2 if you like it darker)

Frosting:
2/3 cup scalded milk (cooled)
1/2 cup soft butter
1/2 cup Crisco
1 egg white
1 cup sugar
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:

Cake:
Mix all ingredients and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes

Frosting:
Beat butter, Crisco, and egg white
Add sugar and vanilla
Add milk when cooled
Beat until fluffy
