1 C. butter or margarine softened
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. salt
1/2 C. confectioners sugar
2 1/4 C. flour
3/4 C. finely chopped nuts (optional)

Additional confectioners sugar for rolling

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly first 3 ingredients. Work in rest until dough holds together. Shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 min. or until set but not brown. While warm, roll in confectioners sugar. Cool. Roll in sugar again. 4 doz. cookies.
