3 cups all-purpose flour
1.5 tablespoons baking powder
1/2 tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda (optional)
1/2 cup vegetable shortening or butter, cubed

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, baking powder and salt three times into a large bowl. In the bowl of a standing mixer, add flour, baking powder, baking soda (optional) and salt.

Add the cold, cubed butter or shortening and using the paddle attachment, mix the ingredients together on low until the mixture resembles coarse breadcrumbs.

Store mixture in airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer for up to 4 months. Use whenever your recipe calls for "Bisquick mix".
