3 eggs
1 t. soda
2 t. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. soured milk (add a little vinegar)
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Pretty much, beat eggs till thoroughly mixed then add other ingredients one-by-one mixing between. Heat waffle iron till water sizzles when dropped on it. Spoon batter onto iron (about 1 spoon per waffle) & cook till browned. If they stick, Pam or grease the iron.

Variations:
Chocolate Waffles: Substitute 1/2 c. cocoa for 1/2 c. flour. These are great with fresh fruit, ice cream, hot fudge, or whatever your imagination dictates. A great dessert, also.
