1 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
tsp. salt
2 T. sugar
1 egg
c. milk
6 T. Veg. Shortening or butter for frying.

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in bowl and beat until gently blended and smooth.

Melt veg. or butter in skillet.
Dip fruit into batter and dry in pan. Turn over when browned and repeat. Take out and put on paper towel. Put fritter into bowl of sugar and turn to coat. Place on plates.
