5 C flour
2 C sugar
8 T lard
8 T butter
3 eggs
1 t. baking soda disolved in 3/4 C. buttermilk
1 t. cream of tarter
1 C chocolate chips if desired

cream together lard, butter, add sugar, add eggs blend well
add cream of tarter, add baking soda/buttermilk mix
Add flour
mix well, add chocolate chips if desired

Drop by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet
Bake 350 until lightly brown
