1/2 cup butter - softened
1 cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons white sugar
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons finely ground coffee or espresso powder
1 cup chocolate chips
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugars until fluffy, then beat in the egg and vanilla
Combine dry ingredients and add to wet and stir just until blended, then stir in the choc. chips.
Drop by large spoonfuls onto cookie sheet - They bake better if they are large, you should get about 14 cookies out of a batch. Bake at 375º for 8 to 10 min. Don't over bake. Leave on cookie sheet for a couple minutes after you take them out of the oven.

I think everyone of the grandkids with the exception of Luke has made these cookies with me multiple times. Hopefully by next year we will add Luke to that list!
At first they weren't sure about putting the coffee in them but after they tasted them they were sold.
Ask Jake about his "flour face" when he made them one time.
