2 cups sugar
1 cup butter - softened
1 egg

1/2 tsp baking soda
3 cups flour

Egg wash if desicred - see below
Sprinkles or nuts

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Cream sugar, butter and egg together.

Gradually mix in baking soda and flour.

This dough can be rolled out and you can use cookie cutters. Or you can roll it in a log, wrap in wax paper. Chill for 2 hours. Then slice thinly and bake.

**I use an egg wash on top of the cookies before baking. {Egg wash - 1 egg, beaten well and milk.}
Baste top of cookies with egg wash then add sprinkles or nuts

Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown
