2/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 pkg chocolate chips
**plus 1/4 cup more flour**
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Mix shortening, sugars, egg and vanilla. Blend well.

Mix in another bowl - flour, baking soda, salt. Add slowly to the first items. Mix completely.

Add the 1/4 cup more flour. Mix and add chocolate chips and nuts.

Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
