1 C softened butter
1 egg
½ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp salt
3 T sugar
1 C powdered sugar
½ tsp peppermint extract
2 ½ C all purpose flour
1 C crushed candy canes (crushed very fine)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. In large bowl combine butter and powdered sugar til light and fluffy. Add egg, peppermint extract, and vanilla and beat til well blended. Gradually add flour and salt. Mix til blended. Cover bowl and refrigerate for 1 hour. Shape into 1 ½ inch balls. Roll each ball into crushed candy canes and the 3 T sugar. Place them on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned around edges.
