Rock Cookies Recipe

4 eggs
3 cups sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup lard
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
3 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. salt
1 pound dates
½ pound raisins
1 cup walnuts  
4 ½ ­to 5 cups flour

Grind all fruit and nuts through a meat grinder. Cream together eggs, butter, sugar and lard together. Stir together 4 ½ cups of flour with soda, cinnamon, cocoa and salt. Blend with creamed mixture. Mix in ground fruit and nuts. Dough must be thick, so you may have to add more flour. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. 
Bake at 350º F. for 10 ­to 12 minutes.
