4 cups flour
4 tsp. soda
½ tsp. salt (optional)
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
2 cups brown sugar, packed
1 ½ cups margarine
½ cup molasses
2 eggs
Granulated sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine  flour,  soda,  salt  and  spices.  Stir  well.  Cream  brown sugar, butter, molasses and eggs together thoroughly. Add flour and mix well. Shape into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets and flatten with fork or fingers. 
Bake at 350º F. for 8 minutes until lightly brown on the bottom.
*These burn easily. Also make sure that the cookies are firm to touch. Do not under bake.
