Ingredients: 1 spiral cut ham (I prefer Hillshire Farms)
1½ cups brown sugar 6 tablespoons melted butter 8 tablespoons honey 1 cup chopped pecans

Directions: |
Directions:Preheat oven to 325º Spray roasting pan or 9"X13" Pyrex pan with Pam
Follow the directions on the packaging of the ham to ready it for the oven. Cover the ham with boil; bake ham at 325º for 20 minutes per pound. Today's hams are pre-cooked and only require baking to get them warm. Remove the foil and glaze (see below) during last 20 minutes.
Mix glaze ingredients together. Spread glaze all over the ham 20 minutes before the end of baking time. Regularly baste (spoon or turkey baster) the ham during this phase of baking.
I don't take the ham out until it is brown and the glaze is dark and bubbling, so adjust the baking time if necessary. My priority is the deep and almost crusty glaze. |

Notes: My mother was one of many "Women of the Church" at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Denison, TX who helped provide food for grieving families of the parish. Her fresh hams came from an actual butcher and bear little resemblance to our ham today. She used a glaze of Grandma's Molasses mixed with butter.
