Tillie McMillan

1 1/2 lbs ground beef
3/4 cup large flake oatmeal
3/4 cup fine chopped onion
1 egg lightly beaten
1T worchestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup ketchup

1 cup ketchup
4 T brown sugar(or maple syrup)
4 T vinegar
1/2 cup grated onion
2T worchestershire sauce

Mix all ingredients lightly but till well mixed. Pack firmly into loaf pan (lined with parchment or bread slices) If you pack it firmly enough it will slice better when cold.(and not fall apart) Put in 350 preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes. Set the timer!
When cooked pour fat off and put sauce on top and put back in to oven for 5 to 10 minutes.
If you put a layer sliced bread in the bottom of loaf pan it will absorb the fat and it stops the loaf from sticking to bottom. It will peel off easily when you remove from pan.
