2-1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
1-1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice

1/2 cup butter - softened
1/2 cup water
1-1/2 cup sour applesauce
2 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
-Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

-In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves and allspice.

-The sift 3 times....yes 3 times. Set aside.

-Cream together butter, water, sour applesauce and eggs.

-Gradually add the flour mixture and mix well.

-Add chopped walnuts.

-Bake about 1 hour or until tester comes out clean.
