1 cup light brown sugar
2 cups white sugar
4 eggs
1-1/2 cups Crisco shortening
1 pinch of salt

5 cups of flour
3 tsp. of baking powder
1-1/2 tsp. of baking soda

1-1/2 cups buttermilk

Colored sugar for decoration
or desired decoration
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Cream together brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, Crisco shortening and salt.

In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda.

Gradually add the flour mix and the buttermilk to the sugar mix. Alternating the dry mix and the liquid.

Drop by teaspoons onto cookies sheet. Decorate tops with nuts, sugars, raisins, etc.

Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Cool on rack
