"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Personal Notes:
From Robbie - her note:
I could never afford to get Jeannie & Julie the expensive cans of kid pasta from the
store, but they always asked for them. To satisfy them, I used to get cans of tomato
soup and ABC or other shaped pasta. I'd make the soup according to the directions on
the can, then simmer the pasta in it till done. I would add meat balls or hot dogs - just
like from the can. The kids didn't know the difference.

One time on Jeannie's first time spending the night at a friend's, her friend's mother
asked her what she wanted for lunch and gave her a choice of soups and canned
pasta. She asked for ABC's & 123's. When the friend's mother served it, Jeannie took
one bite and said, "YUK! This isn't how my Mom makes it." The mother called me &
asked what she did wrong. When I explained, she laughed and gave them grilled
cheese.
