1 c. sugar
c. shortening
4 T. molasses
2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. soda
tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg, stirring in sugar gradually. Beat in shortening and molasses. Add dry ingredients which have been sifted together. Bake at 375 for 12 min.
Do not overbake.
I double this recipe and put in freezer. They freeze great.
