Ingredients:  
Preheat oven 350º Grease 11/15 baking pan

Cake
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4-1/2 tsp salt
3 eggs
1 3/4 cups sugar
1 cup oil
4-5 Granny Smith apples,peeled, cored and sliced
1 1/4 cups chopped walnuts

Icing
1 cup sugar
1 large vanilla pudding-not instant
1 cup Crisco

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 4 ingredients. Beat eggs and sugar until well blended. Add oil. beat well. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Do not overbeat. Fold in apples and nuts. Batter will be thick. Spread in pan, bake for 45 minutes. Cool before icing.

Icing:
Cook pudding using half the milk called for. Chill.
Beat Crisco and sugar until smooth. Add pudding.
Frost cake.


***Best when kept cold. Icing tends to soften if cake stays out too long.
