1 unbaked 9 inch pie shell

Filling:
3 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup melted butter
1 cup light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. vanilla (I use bourbon)
1 1/3 cups pecans, toasted

Glaze:
1 cup / 250 ml chocolate chips, bittersweet or semi-sweet, melted and slightly cooled
1 T. bourbon ( brandy, if using vanilla in the filling)
2 T. soft butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.

Beat the eggs.
Add the sugar and mix.
Stir in the melted butter.
Add the vanilla or bourbon.

Put the pecan halves in the pie shell.
pour the filling over the pecans.

Bake for 45 minutes.
Chill completely.
Spread on glaze.
Decorate with pecan halves.

This is one of my favourite pies! It is always a popular dessert.
Plain whipped cream served on the side cuts the sweetness.
