2 Tbs. cooking oil
1 can tomato sauce (12 oz)
1 can beef broth (12 oz)
1/2 c. red Burgundy wine
3 Tbs. flour
1 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1/2 tsp. basil
1 1/2 # beef chuck, 1" cubes
3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 carrots, peeled, thick slices
1 large yellow onion, sliced
1/2 # mushrooms, sliced
1/2 # green beans, sliced

In dutch oven or large skillet, brown beef chunks. Add onion and saute until clear. Remove from heat. Add beef broth and stir in flour until smooth. Add remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly. Simmer gently for 1 1/2 hours. Add water if needed.
