Always Make a Double Batch!

1 c. milk
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla
¼ tsp ground cinnamon

1 c. chopped pecans
2 T light corn syrup
½ tsp ground cinnamon
½ tsp ground nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Slice bread about 1" in thickness and arrange in a 9x13" greased dish in two rows (slightly overlapping).

In a large bowl, beat eggs and mix in half-and-half, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Pour mixture over the bread slices and be sure that each slice is covered evenly. Pour mixture between each slice.

Cover with foil and refrigerate over night.

Christmas morning, preheat oven to 350º and make topping.
(Combine all topping ingredients in a medium bowl and blend well.)

Spread topping over the bread and bake for 40 minutes.

BE SURE TO PLACE A SHEET OF TIN FOIL IN THE BOTTOM OF THE OVEN BECAUSE THE FRENCH TOAST WILL BUBBLE OVER!

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
While the title of this dish is Christmas Morning Baked French Toast - it is actually Paula Deen's recipe and I also serve it for our Mother's Day Brunch.

Again, remember to always make a double batch because one serving is never enough.
