¾ c. sugar
¼ c. flour
½ tsp. ground nutmeg
½ tsp. ground cinnamon
dash of salt
6 c. pared, thinly sliced Granny Smith apples (6 medium)
2 T. butter

Pastry for 9 in. 2 crust pie

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º
In large bowl, mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Stir in apples.
Turn into pastry-lined 9 in. pie plate.
Dot with butter.
Cover with top crust with slits cut into it. Seal and flute edge. (Pinch pie crust together using 2 hands.)
Alt. top crust: cover with 1 in. strips woven over top. Seal and flute edge.
Cover edge with foil or metal pie crust shield.
Bake until crust is golden brown and juice begins to bubble through slits.
