3 ⅓ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon cinnamon
3 cups sugar
½ cup chopped dates
½ cup chopped nuts
4 eggs
1 cup cooking oil
⅓ cup water
1 large can of pumpkin (2 cups)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients, dredge dates and nuts in flour mixture. Beat eggs well, add cooking oil, water and pumpkin. Mix well. Mix dry and liquid ingredients together.

Pour batter into two greased and floured 9½ x 5½ x 2¾ inch loaf pans or 1 large and 3 small. Bake in a 350º oven for 1¼ hours. Insert knife in center and remove. If clean, bread is done.

Do not omit the dates. This is what makes it so different and good. Mom made this for Teresa and I every year. Love this pumpkin break!
