1/2 cup shortening
2 cups flour- sifted
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
2 eggs- well beaten
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup bananas- mashed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup sour milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the shortening in a medium or large bowl and gradually add sugar. Add the eggs and mix well. In a separate bowl, sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients alternately with the milk and bananas. Blend in vanilla. Pour evenly into two 8" round pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
