Ingredients: 1 package Devils Food Chocolate Cake Mix 4 eggs 1 TBSP. canola oil 2 packages (8 ounce each) cream cheese, softened ½ cup sugar 1 ½ cups milk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 envelope Dream Whip prepared or 1 small tub Cool Whip, thawed Shaved chocolate (optional)

Directions:Preheat oven to 300º F. Measure 1 cup of dry cake mix and set aside. Stir together remaining dry cake mix, 1 egg and oil in a large bowl. Mixture will be crumbly. Press crust mixture into the bottom and ¾ of the way up sides of a greased 9X13 inch pan. Blend cream cheese and sugar in bowl. Add 3 eggs and reserved cake mix. Beat 1 minute. Gradually add milk and vanilla at low speed until smooth. Pour into crumb crust. Bake at 300º F. for 55 to 60 minutes or until center is firm. Cool at room temperature. Spread whipped topping over cheesecake and sprinkle with shaved chocolate. Chill 1 hour before serving. Store in refrigerator. Can be baked in 2 9 inch round pans, but reduce baking time to 40 to 50 minutes. Can be frozen. |
