Magic Muffins (Bran Muffins) Recipe

6 cups All Bran cereal
2 cups boiling water
1 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs, beaten
1 quart buttermilk
5 cups flour
5 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
Raisins (optional)

Put 2 cups All Bran in a bowl. Pour the boiling water over and let sit.

Mix 4 cups All Bran with sugar, eggs, oil, buttermilk.

Sift in flour, soda, salt.

Combine all ingredient until just moistened.

Bake in muffin pans at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

Original recipe calls for refrigerating batter overnight.

Sauna and Suzie called these magic muffins because in high school, I was so hungry that I felt like I could barely move. Suzie brought me these muffins and I perked right up...like they were magic.
