2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 cups rolled oats (not quick oats)
1/2 to 1 package chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together all dry ingredients (not chips and oats) and mix well.

Mix all wet ingredients.

Mix dry and wet together.

Lastly, mix in chips and oats.

Form into balls and place on cookie sheet.


Bake at 350 for 11-15 minutes.

The recipe came from my sister's high school boyfriend. His babysitter made these cookies for him and she was a "fox" (good-looking girl in the 70s). Instead of Cookie Cowboy, they became known as Foxy Cookies.
