1 1/2 tsp olive oil
1 cup chopped onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp minced ginger
1 pound lean ground beef
1 1/4 tsp cumin
1 1/4 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/8 tsp ground cinnamon
3/4 cup chopped plum tomato (2 medium)
1/2 cup frozen green peas
3 tbsp. plain low-fat yogurt
3 lime wedges

1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté 4 minutes. Add beef; cook 8 minutes, stirring to crumble beef. Drain if necessary and return to pan.
2. Stir in cumin and next 5 ingredients, and cook 1 minute over medium-high heat, stirring often. Stir in tomatoes, peas, and yogurt. Cook 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Serve with pita wedges.

Yield: 4 servings (3/4 cup beef mixture, 1 pita wedge, and 1 lime wedge)
