1 envelope Knox plain gelatin
2 pkgs. strawberry jello - small
1 cup boiling water
2 pkgs. (10 ozs.) thawed frozen strawberries
1 can (1 lb., 4 oz.) crushed pineapple
3 medium bananas, diced
1 c. walnuts/pecans, chopped
2 cartons (½ pt. each) sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, combine strawberries, pineapple, nuts and bananas.

Place a cup of boiling water into a bowl of dry jello and Knox gelatin. Stir until dry ingredients are thoroughly dissolved.
Pour jello mixture into fruit mixture and gently stir to combine.

Spoon half of the mixture into a 9x13" dish. Refrigerate this half of the mixture until set, approximately 30 minutes.

When set, spread sour cream over it. Spoon the rest of the jello/fruit mixture over the sour cream. Return to refrigerator until time to serve.

Aunt Judy would bring this to Aunt Irene's house every Christmas Eve. Like cranberry sauce is to a heavy Thanksgiving meal, this jello dish was to pierogies and rich soup!
