1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups raisins
1/2 cup shortening or butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Place raisins in slightly boiling water and simmer 10 minutes. Cool then drain.
Cream together shortening or butter and brown sugar.
Add eggs and vanilla then beat together.
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together flour, baking soda, cloves, salt and cinnamon in a separate bowl.
Add wet mixture and raisins and fold stir together.
Spray cookie sheet with non-stick cooking spray.
Scoop 1 Tbsp or more of mixture onto cookie sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes.
