Combine:
1 lb.powdered sugar (3 cups)
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup milk
1½ tsp vanilla
⅓ cup (⅔ stick ) soft butter

Beat with electric mixer or with heavy spoon until smooth and creamy. If too stiff add few drops of milk.

Frosts tops and side of 2-8" or 2-9" layer pans.
