1 lb. ground beef ( as lean as possible)
2 lg. onions
2 slices of bread
1 Cup of milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp. curry powder (mild or hot/ as you prefer)
1 lemon- juiced
12 almonds - blanched
some butter, some sugar, some bacon, salt and pepper to taste

Soak the bread in milk and squeeze out excess (keep the milk)

Fry, then add the fried onion mix.

the onions in a little butter ( or olive oil for heart health) add curry powder, lemon juice, add sugar and mix well.

Mix the soaked bread with the ground beef and one beaten egg

Line a bread baking tin with bacon on the bottom & sides, and fill with the well mixed meat, onions etc. but only about half way. Spread the almonds on top of the mix in the pan, then add the rest of the mix, squeezing it down as much as possible.

Beat the second egg, add the milk squeezed out of the bread. and pour over the top.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 to 30 min. (or until done)

Serve with boiled potatoes and gravy, or with rice and chutney.
