1 ½ c. butter, softened or (I Can't Believe It's Not Butter)
8oz. cream cheese, softened
3 c. sugar
6 lg. eggs
3 c. all purpose flour
Dash of salt
1 ½ tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 325º. Beat butter and cream cheese at medium speed for about 2 minutes. Gradually add sugar, beating 5 to 7 minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each until yellow disappears. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing at low speed just until blended. Add vanilla. Pour into greased and floured 10" tube pan. Bake at 325º for 1 ½ hours or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.

*Granny uses White Lily All Purpose Flour and sifted).

For lemon pound cake use 1 T. flavoring instead of vanilla extract.
