Ingredients:  
1 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 egg lightly beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/4 cups rolled oats
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar
add egg and vanilla
add sifted dry ingredients
then add rolled oats and coconut
roll mixture by teaspoonfuls into balls
flatten with fork dipped in milk

Lightly grease cookie sheet

Bake at 350* for 10 or 11 minutes
