Cake:
1¼ cup boiling water
1 cup Quaker oat (either old fashion or quick)
½ cup butter or margarine
1 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1½ cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
¾ tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg

Frosting:
¼ cup butter or margarine - melted
½ cup brown sugar
3 Tbsp half and half
⅓ cup chopped walnuts
¾ cup shredded or flaked coconut

Directions:
Directions:
For cake; pour boiling water over oats; cover and let stand for 20 minutes. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugars and eggs then add oat mixture and mix well. Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Pour batter into a well greased floured 9 - inch pan. Bake at 350 ºf for 50-55 minutes. Leave cake in pan.

For frosting; combine all ingredients. Spread evenly over cake. Broil until frosting becomes bubbly. Cake can be served warm or cool.
