Maple Baked Beans Recipe

1 lb dry White Beans (about 2 cups)
1 cup Maple Syrup
cup Chili Sauce
1 small Onion (chopped)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Dry Mustard
lb Bacon (cut into bite size cube pieces)
2 cups Boiling Water

Place beans in large saucepan, cover with water and bring to a boil.
Simmer 2 mins then remove from heat and let stand covered 1 hour.
Drain and discard cooking water.
In a bowl mix together the syrup, chili sauce,onion, salt and dry mustard.
Place beans in 2 qt (or litre) ovenproof baking dish. Mix in bacon.
Pour syrup mixture over beans and add enough boiling water to barely covered,
add more boiling water as needed while cooking to keep beans moist.
Cover and bake at 300 F for 6-7 hours or until beans are tender.
