¼ cup Butter (melted)
½ cup Sugar
4 medium Bananas (firm)
⅓ cup soft Shortening
¾ cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 cup Flour
⅓ cup Cocoa
½ tsp Baking Soda
⅛ tsp Baking Powder
½ tsp Salt
⅔ cups Water
½ tsp Vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º F. Have ready a 9" cake pan.
Stir butter and ½ cup sugar together in cake pan.
Slice bananas about ½" thick and lay them on top of sugar mixture.
Combine shortening, ¾ cup sugar and egg in mixer bowl and beat
together until light and fluffy.
Sift flour, cocoa, soda, baking powder and salt together and add
shortening-sugar mixture alternately with water and vanilla.
Spread batter over banana. Bake 50-55 mins or until centre springs back.
Invert on serving plate and let pan stand over cake for a minute or so all
banana mixture drops out. Serve warm, cut into squares and top with Honey
Chocolate Sauce or whipped cream.
