8 medium potatoes
4 medium onions
2 tsp. salt
Fresh ground pepper
1 cup butter, melted

Buttered oval-shaped casserole

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice the potatoes and onions very thin. Butter the sides and bottom of a casserole well. Arrange the slices of potatoes and onions alternatively up on edges in the dish, packing them close together so the vegetables will not topple over. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Dribble with melted butter generously over the potatoes. Bake in preheated 400-425 degree oven for about 45 minutes, or until potatoes and onions are brown and tender. Add more butter as needed during baking. Serve hot.

Makes 8-10 servings.
