1-2 slices of bread, thin and rectangular shaped
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup dried beef
2 Tbsp. ketchup

Directions:
Directions:
Remove crusts from the slice(s) of bread. Flatten the bread slightly by passing a rolling pin over it lightly. Spread with mustard butter. Mix cheddar cheese, dried beef, and ketchup and spread over buttered bread. Starting on the long side, roll up the bread like a jelly roll. Brush edge with soft butter, fasten roll together with toothpicks. Wrap the roll in heavy waxed paper or plastic wrap and pack in a box and freeze.

To serve, partially thaw and cut 1/2-inch slices. Serve when fully defrosted. May be broiled briefly to crisp them.

Makes about 20 canapes.

2-3 Tbsp. prepared mustard

Beat butter to the consistency of whipped cream. Beat in prepared mustard.
