8 prunes
8 almonds, toasted
4 slices of thin bacon
8 small croutes of fried bread
watercress to garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Stone the prunes and place a toasted almond in each one. Cut the strips of bacon in half. Wind a piece of bacon around each prune and secure with a wooden cocktail stick. Cook the stuffed prunes under a hot grill until the bacon is golden. Serve each hot savory on a croute of fried bread, garnishing the plate with a sprig of watercress.

Makes 8 canapes.
