2 c. dark rye flour
2 c. lukewarm water
Sourdough starter
Mix together and let stand overnight

1 pkg. yeast
3 c. lukewarm water
6 c. white flour
4 c. rye flour
1 1/2 TB salt

Optional:
Soak 1 c. 12 grain cereal overnight in 1 c. water. (Take off 1 c. water from the recipe) Add sunflower seeds, (handful) ground flax seed and or caraway seed.

Directions:
Preheat oven 450º. Mix all wet ingredients together and then add rest of ingredients except for flour. Add flour slowly until dough cleans sides of bowl. Knead until gluten is formed. Place into greased bread pans and bake 15 mins at 450º then lower heat to 325º and allow the bread to bake for an additional 2 hours. Makes 3 loaves. From Sis. Martha Oppel.
